Accessorizing for a Trip

When traveling, it is important to choose a few key pieces of jewelry that will look good with all the clothes you are taking on your trip. You may choose to wear all the pieces together or a different piece each night. Here are our suggestions.

Statement Cuff Bracelet

A bold statement cuff bracelet is the perfect accessory to elevate any outfit.  Wear it alone as your main statement piece, or pair it with your other accessories.  Either way, it takes you from day to night with ease and style! We love this cuff bracelet by Marco Bicego, and we think you will too!

Packing Tips

1. Keep Your Jewelry With You – Never pack your jewelry in your checked bags. Pack it in a jewelry pouch in your handbag or carry-on luggage. Valuable jewelry like your engagement ring or wedding band should be worn on the plane.

2. Store Jewelry in the Room Safe – Keep your jewelry in the in-room safe when you’re not wearing it. Make sure not to leave any jewelry on the dresser in the hotel room and most importantly, make sure to take your jewelry out of the safe when leaving to go home. We had a client who left her engagement ring in a hotel safe. When she contacted the hotel after returning home, the ring was gone. Lesson learned: Remember what you place in the safe, and take it with you when you leave. Luckily, our client had her ring insured.

3. Insure Your Jewelry – It is very important to insure your jewelry. Jewelry can be lost, damaged, or left behind on vacation. Give yourself peace of mind and have your valuable jewelry insured.

The first step to getting your valuable jewelry insured is getting an appraisal. The appraisal will have a detailed description and analysis of your jewelry. Most jewelry stores are qualified to do appraisals. Once you have the appraisal, call your insurance agency. Armed with the appraisal, the insurance agent will be able to recommend the right policy to fit your needs. The sentimental value of your jewelry is priceless, however, you must protect yourself financially. No matter the cost of your engagement or wedding band, an insurance policy is a way of protecting your investment should your jewelry become lost or stolen at home, or on vacation.
